How to create a Kender Kenders are simply a minor off shoot of Halfling. For ease, use the basic design of a Halfling with a few minor changes. Kender don't get the bonus for throwing weapons instead they gain the use of the Hoopac. The Hoopac is a combination bullet sling(Damage 1d4+1 SM/L) and Quarterstaff (Damage 1d6 SM/1d4 L). When the sling end is spun rapidly it creates an ear spliting sound designed to scare away monsters. Kenders recieve an additional +5% to all thieving abilities naturally with the exceptions of pick pocket and open locks which they recieve instead a natural +10%. This bonus is on top of the Halfling thief bonus if thief class is taken. Kender Taunt: enrage others by verbal abuse (any creature the kender taunts must successfully save vs. spells or attack wildly at once for 1d10 rounds at a -2 penalty to hit and a +2 penalty to AC). Kenders have an immunity to fear (including magical fear). Kenders are curious about everything, a tendency that often gets them in trouble. This rendition of the Kender race was inspired by the character Tasslehoff Burrfoot from the Dragonlance Saga books and combined with information from the Dragonlance Classics 15th Anniversary Edition campaign book.
